Traveling in the US

Traveling in the US

Any US resident or citizen traveling within the US will need to have a Real ID by May 3, 2023. This is a special verified Driver’s License or Identity Document issued by the DMV. The Real ID Act was introduced in 2005, but the enactment has been stalled by issues with technology and now the pandemic. However, anyone not possessing a Real ID, will not be able to travel without a secondary source after May 3, 2023. The process is simple and can be done at the local DMV in Florida by providing certain identity documentation in person. Do not put this off as May 3, 2023 will be here before you know it!

The list of documents and process can be found here: https://www.flhsmv.gov/driver-licenses-id-cards/real-id/
