In filing for a divorce, it is not enough that you have the right attorney by your side. You must also make sure that the lawyer you hire has the best skills and knowledge when it comes to preparing the petition, and the following are some of the contents of the petition:

• The full names and addresses of both spouses
• The date when the spouses got married
• The place that the spouses got married
• Any children of minor age
• The residence requirements
• The years lived in a particular state or county
• The grounds for divorce
